Description:

The only Roman emperor that volunterely left his throne was emperor Diokletianus and exactly he, in 3 ct. AD, built the palace where today stands the city of Split. East and west wall of the palace are 216 m long, on the south 181 m and north 175 m. The visitors of Split will be impressed by the architecture from this period. "The most beautiful city on the Mediterranean"- for decades this city was so described by its visitors who are always impressed by the old town which looks likethe coulisse for the historical movie. The value of the old town of Trogir has been recognized by the world and it is on the UNESCO list of the world cultural heritage.
